The two-year old classroom, like our other classrooms, is designed to stimulate the active minds of its occupants. Children are trying to gain more independence at this age; however, are often frustrated when they cannot complete a specific task their way. We realize that children will gain mastery in many areas during the time between age one and three. The classroom reflects this understanding. Many of the same materials are available and a variety of materials are placed at the child's level so he/she can make choices.
The classroom has a restroom with four commodes and is equipped with a changing table to accommodate children as they potty train. Parents are provided written communication at the end of each day concerning their child's toileting, eating, and sleeping routine. Outside time is a part of the child's daily routine in the two-year old classroom. The children develop large motor skills while they play on the playground equipment designed especially for their age group. The early learners playground is separated from the preschoolers play area by a fence.
